Dear Premier Doug Ford, Minister Paul Calandra, Parliamentary Assistants Jess Dixon, Billy Pang, and MPP ___________,
I’m writing to express deep concern with your government’s decision to move ahead with Bill 33, removing locally elected trustees and replacing them with a centralized, unelected, unaccountable bureaucrat. You are silencing parents and communities, on purpose.
Your government has already slashed $6.3 billion from education, leaving kids without the supports they need and ignoring their crumbling schools.
This kind of power grab takes away parents’ voices in decisions that affect their children’s education. Ontario families deserve elected representatives who are accountable to them, not partisan cronies appointed by your government.
I urge you to withdraw Bill 33, respect local democracy, and invest in repairing and funding our schools. Our kids, families, and communities deserve nothing less.
